Sunday 10th May
Closer to Jesus
Good morning to all our LSM friends.
We hope you enjoy the 3 worship songs we have chosen today.
Over to Chris!
Our second song today is
The Power Of Your Love (Lord I come to you).
Anne encouraged us to draw closer to God in her podcast. She challenged us by asking us "what am I prepared to do to get closer to Jesus and for my faith to grow in these days?" Let this song be our prayer this week as we ask Him to:
"Hold me close, let your love surround me, Bring me near, draw me to your side."
Our final song today is a modern worship song with a beautiful message.
The lyrics of this song are full of scripture. I encourage you to read John 8 which inspired the theme of Who You Say I Am.
John 8:36 "So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
The video here is a message from Jim during these trying times for us all as we learn to adapt to our new social distancing way of life.
Look out for each other, follow the rules and pray for support for our frontline NHS workers.
If you missed Sunday's Service or want to listen again you can find recent sermons below.
Feel free to download any sermon to take the church's message with you.
Sunday 17th May
Traditions are not always helpful
Jesus wants us to realize that we serve Him and not the other way round.
To follow Jim's podcast, Letham St Marks Praise Band has chosen 3 songs for you.
Jim asked, "Who is the servant and who is the master?"
He asked us to renew our faith and ask for the Holy Spirit to lift us in embracing God's law as it needs to be done today in 2020. This song focuses on Jesus as the King who came to serve, not to be served. It encourages us to follow Him in serving others.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Our second song is
Over to Chris with an introduction from our lovely Jeanette.
Our final song is
Great is Your Faithfulness
It reminds us of the never-ending, unfailing and faithful character of God
Sunday 24th May
Mark 3:13 - 19
Following Jim's podcast this morning, our first song this morning is
Above All Powers
Our second song this morning is In Christ Alone.
This is a song that we have sung in our church many times. The words of this song are very moving. It also has a beautiful melody which is so uplifting.
"In Christ alone, my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength my song.
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ, I stand"
Our final song this morning is
The Heart of Worship
In the past few weeks, it often feels that
"all is stripped away".
We are no longer able to go to our church building to worship and praise together. This song reminds us that it is all about Jesus. We can worship Him no matter what the circumstance and setting.
"I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus.
I'm sorry Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus"
